This blog is brought to you by the crazy mind of Moira...
Here's a few of her funniest things she has said to me today
She found a peep (the little marshmallow candy kind...not our 'gangsta' friend kind) on the kitchen counter, and said "Oh! It's my favorite animal!" I said "What kind of animal is it?" and she said, holding it up for my inspection, "This kind of animal...you know, the one with the head on it?" I do have to admit that my favorite animals are ones with heads on them too.
Also while in the kitchen I was grating some cheese for dinner. She comes over and asks what the grater was, and I told her the name and she points to the side of it and says "It's kind of got holes in it...yeah, it's a Holy Grater!" So of course I start picturing the stupid grater wearing a Popes hat or something....I have issues people.
And, when I was down to the end of the block of cheese I gave the last bit to Moira and she chews it for a few seconds and says "It tastes pretty cheesy" I said "Well, that's good because it is cheese" and she says "Yeah, I think it's too cheesy. It tastes kind of different" I see a bright future as a food critic for her ('Yes, the food was good...but it tasted a little too foodie. And that water was different...kind of wet and watery.").
Ok, lets see, what else? Oh, when I got her up from her nap today she tells me "Most people call me Moira" I told her that was good, since Moira is her name. She said "Yeah, they can't call me anything else, because I wont understand them"
And the last thing, which is really funny. Well, at least I thought it was. Yesterday we (by 'we' I really mean 'I') decided to start intensive potty training. So, like I did with the boys when I felt they were old enough or ready or, let's face it, I was sick of changing their diapers, I had them go...um, to quote Joey from Friends (and who doesn't quote Joey? 'Howyoudoin'?') anyway, Moira went "commando". Could she BE wearing any less clothes? (and yes, I do know that's Chandler, not Joey. It's from the same show so I don't care...nanananaboo-boo) So Moira was wearing one of Bastian's t-shirts and nothing else. It's how I trained the boys and it's all I know. Hey, it worked for them, why change it? So, yesterday Moira decided to follow Spencer around, why? How do I know! I guess that's a fun family activity for a 3 year old. Usually Spencer doesn't mind because he's a great big brother to her, but he kept getting up and leaving the room and she would follow him and he would go into another room, and she would follow him, then he'd leave that room and she would be right behind him laughing an evil little laugh. So poor Spencer starts walking really fast to get away, and Moira is running to stay behind him, with her sweet little voice doing a hysterical MWAHAHAHAHA laugh the whole time. Finally Spencer asks me to get her to stop following him, and I asked why it was bothering him so much and he said "Because she is naked and its freaking me out!!!" I had to explain the finer points of potty training to him.
Oh, and as I write this the boys are in the toy room playing computer games and I can hear Moira saying "Haha, I'm naked! I'm naked! Hahahaha"

Moira's birthday extravaganza!!!!!
Here is us singing Happy Birthday to Moira on Friday, her actual birthday. Ok, to be honest, this is the second attempt to sing happy birthday. The first time as soon as the cake got near her she blew out the candles. So, we relit them and tried again. I guess she has something good she is wishing for because again she couldn't wait to blow out the candles. Oh, and incase you were wondering, the cake is a chocolate ice cream cake with oreo cookie crunchies. We had about 5 smaller presents for Moira to open. Here she is with her new Strawberry Shortcake doll:
We had a second party with Sophie, Renee, Steve, Steven, and Renee's friend Aimee and her 3 kids. Moira had decided a while ago that she wanted a Princess Party, so we invited Aimee and her kids (son and 2 daughters) to have a couple more Princesses at the party. I have to say the boys all did great, I'm sure it wasn't the most exciting party for them, what with all the pink and girly stuff, but they seemed to have fun. Here are couple slideshows of the party:

and this one is after the party when Dennis was putting Moira's vanity together:
But, here are my favorite pictures...no wonder Moira is such a Daddy's Girl...she has the best sweetest Daddy in the world. Moira and Daddy have a Tea Party....
Does it get any better then that? No...no I don't think it does *sigh* *smile*

Valentines Day (or, the day my diet died)
Well, this was a fantastic Valentines Day in our household :) Dennis was on a business trip to Florida from early Monday morning till late Wednesday night. I had teased him before that he better have a really good gift for me since he was gone for so long right before Valentines. While he was gone I decided to lose my ever-lovin' mind and I re-did the bathroom. Because running the house and 5 kids by myself for 3 full days just isn't exhausting enough. So, I painted the bathroom (a peachy pink color on the wall, then a springy green color on the trim and doors, but I'm going to redo the trim white. While I love both colors, it's just too much color for me). I also installed a new shower curtain rod, one of the curved ones like the fancy hotels have. And I took our old ugly light fixture off. I bought a new light fixture, but I didn't think to measure the depth of the medicine cabinet and it doesn't clear it, so I have to exchange it tomorrow. But I did that all...all by my lonesome little self. So, while I didn't finish it, while I still have to repaint the trim, I'm pretty proud that I got as much done as I did. And I even managed to do it right...or at least I didn't electricute myself hahaha. And Dennis was shocked, I think he thought if I did stuff like that I'd end up electricuting myself too. And he got home at about 11:30 on Wednesday night.
The kids were so happy to see him the next morning! Then Dennis, the babies, and I went for our traditional Valentines Day lunch at the Candy Kitchen in town, where we exchanged our gifts. Now, Dennis set a $30 limit on gifts, so I bought him materials and fabric to be used as a backdrop when he's on his webcam for his internet radio show. Not very romantic, is it? But he claims he loves it haha. He bought me a heartshaped box full of my favorite Candy Kitchen chocolates (what? you thought that Candy Kitchen was just a delicious diner? Oh, no my friend! Not only are they a delicious diner, but they make delicious chocolates too. Mozzarella sticks and peanut butter cups, all in the same place. Does it get any better then that?) Ok, so, chocolates are a great Valentines gift...but wait, there's more! He also bought
me this:
We also took the kids out to eat. We wanted to take them to Red Robin (ok, back story on this one...about a week ago we were out with the kids running errands, and we drove by the Red Robins restaurant in Webster, and from the seat behind me I hear Bastian say "Monkey wants my burger! Monkey wants my burger!" which is their favorite commercial. Bastian was able to read the Red Robin sign all by himself. I almost died laughing...ok, here's a link to see the commercial if you don't know it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q-8RUxmdPzE) (by the way, I totally can't believe I got you to watch a commercial in the middle of my blog. I'm an ad genius.)
So, anyway, we were planning to go to Red Robin, and we pulled into the parking lot and saw the huge line, and changed our mind. So then we decided to try a new place that opened up on 104, but they had a 30 minute wait too. So, in the end we went to Charlies...which was just as good, and it was practically empty. I guess people don't find burger joints romantic? Weirdos.
Oh, and just to add to the general wonderfulness of my life...we got our new bed delivered on Tuesday:

That's a HUGE bed isn't it?
Here's the babies pretending to sleep (although Lincoln has no idea what he's supposed to be doing...but they sure are cute!)

Since my diet is shot (ok, not really, I've managed not to gain anything this week and I consider that a good accomplishment) I figured I should ruin your diet...and if you are not on a diet I don't think I want to be your friend. Looks yummy doesn't it?

Considering I was totally kidding about expecting a great present after his trip, this blew me away! I love it so much! I need to get it sized so I'm hoping they can wrap the heart around my engagement ring. Dennis is the best guy in the world. I'm a lucky lucky girl.
We got each of them (besides Lincoln) a contoured temporpedic pillow. Spencer and Gideon got chargers for their Wii remotes, Bastian got a Ben 10 toy (it's a cartoon character on Cartoon Network), Moira got a babydoll stroller, and Lincoln got a tonka truck. And, Dennis also bought them a box of candy to share.

He likes me, He really likes me!
Spencer is very quickly moving into the tween age, the eye-rolling-sighing-my-parents-are-such-dorks age. The walk-50-feet-ahead-or-behind-me age. The don't-let-my-friends-see-you-and-if-you-love-me-you-will-NOT-hug-or-kiss-me age. So far I'm lucky. He still loves me. He still hugs me. He still walks with me and introduces me. But I know I'm working on borrowed time here. Any day now this will change. So, it ment even more to me this week when Spencer brought something home from school for me. They did this whole program about how everyone can make a difference, even if you are a kid or just one person you can make changes in your world. At the end of the program they gave each of the kids two rubber bracelets that say "I make a difference". He brought his second one home for me *sniff sniff* He said it's because I'm the one that decides if he can do things or not. Yep, "I'm the decider, heh heh" (you have to read that one as though I was impersonating Jon Stewart impersonating George Bush). Of course I haven't taken it off since he gave it to me, and of course every single day Moira says "It's my turn to wear the bracelet, Mama. It's my turn!" But I'm being selfish with this (possible) last gift that my baby gave me before he turns into a crazy-eyed-breathing-problemed-contact-allergic-super-fast-walking-tween. *sniff sniff*
BLOG part 2: Darn screw ball!!!
Bastian was playing Wii yesterday, he was playing the pool game. He is also suprizingly good at it. Spencer and Gideon were at a friends birthday party, the babies were napping, so we just let Bastian play as long as he wanted to. So, I'm reading on the couch, and I hear him say "Oh, man! Foul! The screw ball went in the pocket!" So, of course Dennis and I look at each other and say "screw ball?" Hahaha, for those that don't speak Bastian, the 'screw ball' would be the 'cue ball'. But I think I like the screw ball better.
BLOG part 3: What am I, Chopped Liver??
I have said before how much of a Daddy's Girl Moira is, right? Well, the other day Moira was showing me a little bouncy ball and pointing out the pretty stars inside it and all the neat features, like um, being round...and bouncing...and the pretty stars, did I mention the stars? So I ask her where she got the pretty ball, and she says "My Daddy bought it for me" (um, no, Santa bought it for her, but ok). Then a few minutes later she was showing me her new pretties (hair clips) and I asked who bought those for her. She promptly said "My Daddy bought them for me!" Huh, I could have sworn that I bought them. And I was almost positive that Moira was with me when I bought them. And I'm about 99% sure that we were talking about them as we were in the store and as we took them to the checkout and as I paid for them. I mean, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that was me and not Dennis. So I asked her "Does Mama ever buy you anything?" and she stops and thinks for a minute, then says "No, just Daddy" and walks away. The little screw ball.
